I was honored to be appointed to the Conference Committee that will negotiate the differences between the House's six-year highway bill and the Senate's version of the bill. As the senior Texan on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, I'm working hard to ensure we meet the transportation needs of the 27th Congressional District, Texas, and the United States. Our economy depends on the efficient movement of goods and services.

Smith, Babin Praise Successful Reusable Rocket Test in Texas

House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas), and Space Subcommittee Chairman Brian Babin (R-Texas) today praised a private space company’s successful test of a reusable rocket at a test facility in West Texas. Texas Man Faces Capital Murder Charges in Slaughter of 6 Campers

Issues: 

The man who allegedly killed four men, a woman and her 6-year-old while they were camping on their land in east Texas Saturday night now faces six counts of capital murder. Chairman Poe Releases Strategy to Respond to Paris Attacks

Earlier this week, I introduced a House Resolution (H.Res525) urging the Administration to work with the NATO member states to invoke Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty in response to the Paris attacks. Article 5 signifies that an attack on one NATO country is an attack on all and requires a joint response from all NATO members.
