The man who allegedly killed four men, a woman and her 6-year-old while they were camping on their land in east Texas Saturday night now faces six counts of capital murder. Earlier this week, I introduced a House Resolution (H.Res525) urging the Administration to work with the NATO member states to invoke Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty in response to the Paris attacks. Article 5 signifies that an attack on one NATO country is an attack on all and requires a joint response from all NATO members. As we all watched in horror the events that unfolded in Paris on Friday night, November 13, we knew that Satan was wandering the streets in France. The President of France, Francois Hollande, called it an act of WAR! It did not take the French long to respond to the terror attacks by ISIS. The ‘Guardian’ reported that ten French fighter jets targeted the Islamic State’s stronghold in Raqqa on Sunday night and dropped twenty bombs. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) has already tweeted that he won’t pursue immigration reform while President Obama is in office. Ryan does not trust the president to enforce an amnesty or partial legalization for unauthorized immigrants. But that does not preclude improving the legal immigration system for other workers.
