National Unemployment Rate Hits 10.2 Percent
The national unemployment rate has just risen to 10.2 percent, the highest since April 1983. American families and small businesses are struggling in these challenging economic times. With our unemployment now in double digits, we must focus our efforts on job creation. Unfortunately, the Obama Administration has grown our government at an unprecedented rate. They pledged unemployment wouldn’t rise above 8 percent if their $1.1 trillion stimulus package passed. Now Democrats are attempting to push through a job killing health care bill that will spend another trillion dollars, cut Medicare, raise insurance premiums, and tax the very small businesses that are the engine of economic growth. It is my hope they will reverse course and work in a bipartisan fashion to get our economy moving again in the right direction.
