Justice for Victims of Iranian Terror

Issues:

On April 17, 2006, a 16-year old American high school student named Daniel Wultz was murdered by an Islamic Jihad suicide bomber while touring Tel Aviv. Six years later, the court ordered the Iranian government to pay the family $323 million in damages because they provided material support to the terrorists who murdered Daniel. America Should Not Be Complicit in Human Rights Violations

Last week I sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter seeking information on the appalling sexual abuse of children reportedly occurring in Afghanistan and requesting the Department of Defense’s (DoD) plan to eradicate this despicable violation of human rights. The letter follows recent reports of potentially widespread sexual abuse of young boys in Afghanistan, a practice known as “Bacha Bazi.” Read more about America Should Not Be Complicit in Human Rights Violations

House Passage of Justice for Victims of Iranian Terrorism Act

Issues:

Last week I voted in support of H.R. 3457, the Justice for Victims of Iranian Terrorism Act. Congressman Ted Poe Meets with President of Georgia

Issues:

As the new co-chairman of the Georgian Caucus, it was an honor and privilege to welcome President Margvelashvili and members of the Georgian Parliament to the U.S. Congress. Real, sustainable economic growth can only be led by the free market, not by Washington. America's families and small businesses deserve better. Read more about September Unemployment Report

The GOP Foreign Policy Debate

Jeb Bush's big moment at the last debate came when he reminded Donald Trump that his brother kept America safe. This line received applause but what Bush, or for that matter, Rubio and others, have failed to do is explain why George Bush kept us safer. Read more about The GOP Foreign Policy Debate

Defending America is a Sacred Responsibility

Issues:

National security is a top concern for many Americans. In today’s world, we are constantly reminded of the need to maintain a strong military in the hopes that we will never have to use it. Congress has a sacred responsibility to provide for our nation’s defense. We must never forget the sacrifices those who serve make to protect our freedom. Today I voted to ensure our men and women in uniform have the resources they need. Read more about Defending America is a Sacred Responsibility

Pope Francis on Immigration

Issues:

Pope Francis asked all Catholics to pray for those “who seek a home where they can live without fear” but went further by actually praising those who help refugees. Read more about Pope Francis on Immigration

Justice Has Been Slow for Family of Slain Border Patrol Agent

Issues:

The trial of the two men accused of murdering U.S. Border Patrol Brian Terry has been a long time coming. During the nearly five years since his murder, Terry’s family has been forced to endure unimaginable frustration, pain and other indignities from the federal government he swore an oath to serve and protect.
