Congressman Pete Sessions on HEROES Camp

As the father of a young man with Down syndrome, I have been an advocate for individuals with disabilities in Congress and in our community. On Thursday, I was delighted to visit the Helping Everyone Reach Outstanding Educational Success (HEROES) Camp at Richardson First United Methodist Church to learn more about the camp and meet with the staff.

I was pleased to learn that we all share a common goal of helping individuals with disabilities reach their full potential and understand the importance of providing them with community experiences. The HEROES camp promotes life-long learning by focusing on activities such as job coaching and communication skills. I am extremely grateful that the hardworking staff of the HEROES Camp took the time to meet with me and I look forward to working with them on creating a brighter future for our loved ones with disabilities.
