Working to Make Trump-Era Tax Law Permanent
by Michael McCaul on February 20, 2023 at 4:48 PM
Six years ago, under the Trump administration, Republicans passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), legislation that radically transformed the economy, bringing wages that far outpaced inflation, record lows in unemployment, and tax decreases that left more money in people's wallets.
If Congress fails to act soon, 23 different provisions of that tax law will expire after 2025. That's why I joined the TCJA Permanency Act, legislation to ensure the TCJA stays intact. As Americans today struggle to make ends meet in President Biden's economy, making the TJCA permanent will provide much-needed relief, ensuring families and small businesses will always have a chance to prosper.
