Why Christmas Shop When You Can Christmas LOOT

For all the “woke” CEOs who condone Leftists ideology, “Welcome to the party, Pal!”

Leftism again rears its ugly head, but worse than ever. While retailers have always dealt with “shrinkage,” Leftism now allows for the worst theft in history.

In California, they raised the felony amount for shoplifting from $50 to $950. And it’s paying off…for thieves.

As Fox Business reported,

Nordstrom department store in Los Angeles on Monday night became the latest retail location to be hit by a flash-mob style “smash and grab” looting attack, according to reports.

This time, about 20 suspects took part in a break-in at Nordstrom at the Grove, not far from the city’s Holocaust Museum and the La Brea Tar Pits, KCBS-TV of Los Angeles reported.

Suspects fled in four separate vehicles, including a Nissan SUV, as police arrived at the scene, the report said.

It wasn’t immediately clear how much merchandise may have been stolen or if there were any arrests or injuries at the scene.

This might be no big deal. However, it happened only a couple of days earlier:

On Saturday evening, about 80 looters stormed a Nordstrom store in Walnut Creek, California, about 25 miles east of San Francisco. Several suspects have since been arrested while others remained at large.

That is what we in the sane world call a “pattern.” But it’s not just Nordstrom’s, as of last Friday, about eight suspects entered a Louis Vuitton store in San Francisco’s Union Square shopping district, leaving the store “emptied out.” Those suspects were caught. However at a Louis Vuitton store in Chicago last Wednesday, suspects got away with about $100,000 and they remain free.

Apparently Louis Vuitton has slightly better security, so the group was later taken into custody.

Still, this isn’t stopping other Leftists from trying the same tactics, as big retailers have been hit in other areas. Care to guess where?

In Chicago, thieves struck a Neiman Marcus store and a GameStop store on Friday.

Is anything sacred in the biggest part of the retail season? Will Leftists avoid the “woke” stores like Target, or the “woke” products like Nike, and instead target the less woke Hobby Lobby?

Frankly, I don’t think Leftists care from whom they steal.

For examples, Connecticut launched an investigation earlier this month after suspects stole cartfuls of laundry detergent. The theft occurred in broad daylight, as the thieves robbed a Market 32 store.

These brazen robberies have been occurring for quite some time. And it is Leftist policies that condone such behavior. In fact, a few months ago, I came across this video. Security and another person watched a guy rob Walgreens in broad daylight. They did nothing.

Police won’t even pursue these “petty crimes,” as they have been called. But even if police catch offenders, Leftist prosecutors won’t punish the perpetrators. So the cycle continues.

Who can blame them?

When Democrats allow for such vice, why not take advantage of it. Certainly the economy isn’t getting any better under Biden. So where else to put all that pent up lockdown energy except stealing from capitalists?

For CEOs who believe they are immune from Leftist wacko policies by playing “woke,” think again. There is no reprieve from Leftism.

Further, don’t expect any government agency to factor these thefts into Bidenflation, but they should. Because shrinkage is costly.

Theft from stores, including employee and vendor theft, cost retailers many billions of dollars per year. Independent retail studies* have estimated theft from retail stores costs the American public 33.21 billion dollars per year. Depending on the type of retail store, retail inventory loss ranges from .7%-2.2% of gross sales with the average falling around 1.70%. Whole retail store chains have gone out of business due to their inability to control retail theft losses. And worse yet, the cost of these losses are passed on to us…the consumer.

Shoplifting losses vary by store type but can account for about one-third of the total inventory shrinkage. It is estimated that shoplifting occurs 330 – 440 million times per year at a loss of $10-$13 billion dollars. Nationwide, that equates to 1.0-1.2 million shoplift incidents every day at a loss rate of $19,000-$25,300 dollars stolen per minute. When you factor in employee and vendor theft, this sum skyrockets to an estimate of over $33 billion dollars stolen per year.

These were 2018 numbers. You can bet that things are far worse under Biden.

As if you need a reason not to hire Leftists, look at just employee theft according to this report:

Employee theft, which varies from occasional ‘treats’ or petty pilfering all the way to large-scale frauds is an average of 18.5% of retail shrinkage. Much of this crime goes undetected by retailers, so the totals are estimates. In the U.S. employee theft in 2019 was estimated to be $11.349bn and $6.105bn in Europe.

Again, numbers from a few years ago that have undoubtedly gotten worse under the new Leftist regime.

So for those of you shopping by rules, you might want to reconsider. Just wait until Leftists loot from these “woke” companies. Then buy your Christmas presents on the black market.
