Oversight of U.S. Tax Dollars for USAID
This week, I held House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing to examine the Biden administration's priorities and budget for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. government’s primary humanitarian and development assistance organization in the world. Unfortunately, much of the president's budget request reads more like a liberal wish list than a strategic document to promote American leadership. It seems to place a higher priority on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs than combating the Chinese Communist Party's malign influence. Imposing these political ideologies is not aid — and is not an acceptable use of taxpayer dollars. Click below for my full opening remarks at this hearing.
