New Congress Confronts China
Congressman Sessions (TX-17) voted in favor of H.Res.11- Establishing the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. The resolution passed the House, and the select committee will provide policy recommendations on how the United States can win the economic and technological competition with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
After the vote, Congressman Sessions said, “Today, Republicans began working toward protecting and strengthening America against the immediate threats we face from the Chinese Communist Party. This new select committee will thoroughly investigate the malicious actions the CCP has already taken and provide solutions to protect American citizens. This vicious regime is fueling our nationwide fentanyl crisis, acquiring vast sums of our nation’s agricultural land, propagating authoritarian propaganda within universities, stealing American citizens’ intellectual property, and more. We need to seriously confront the threat China poses, and the new Republican-led select committee will do just that.”
