Farenthold Statement Urging Govenor Abbott to Sign Texas Windstorm Reform Bill

Today, I released the following statement on a letter he sent today, June 2, 2015, urging Texas Governor Greg Abbott to sign Texas Senate Bill 900 that reforms the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (“TWIA”).

The Texas Legislature has passed bipartisan, bicameral legislation to reform Windstorm Insurance in Texas. This bill creates better funding structures to provide reasonable insurance rates for Texas residents while also ensuring that TWIA will have enough money to pay claims when a large storm strikes. I urge Governor Abbott to sign this bill immediately.
