Congressman Sessions Selected to Serve on Oversight & Accountability and Financial Services Committees

On January 19, Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) was confirmed as a member of the House Financial Services Committee and House Committee on Oversight & Accountability. Both committees are at the forefront of House Republicans’ commitment to providing a strong economy, a secure nation, and a government accountable to the American taxpayer. Congressman Sessions’ previous tenure as a former member and Chairman of the powerful House Rules Committee will give fellow Republican committee members access to expert-level counsel concerning House floor procedure.

“I am proud to continue serving on the House Financial Services Committee and House Committee on Oversight & Accountability. After two years of one-party rule, our nation has been brought to the brink of chaos. Crises including 40-year high inflation, record-breaking illegal immigration at our southern border, and shocking numbers of drug overdoses all came to fruition under Democrats' watch. Now, my Republican colleagues and I are charged with bringing stability back to our nation. From oversight of the Biden Administration to developing clear guidelines for our markets and assets of the future–both Republican-led committees will re-administer fairness and equal application of the law for all Americans.

I would like to thank Chairman Comer and Chairman McHenry for selecting me to serve on their respective committees. I trust their leadership in both full committees.”
