Important Information for Small Businesses
As we continue to join together as a nation to fight COVID-19, I wanted to share some important information on the actions Congress and the Administration have taken to assist small businesses.
As you may know, President Trump recently instructed the U.S. Small Businesses Administration (SBA) to offer loans to small businesses across the country who have been hurt by COVID-19. Additionally, Congress approved an additional $20 million to support the SBA loan program, which I was proud to support.
Yesterday, Governor Abbott requested designation from the SBA, which will allow them to provide long-term, low-interest loans to qualifying businesses across the state of Texas.
As part of their Economic Injury Disaster Loan program, the SBA can provide qualifying small businesses with loans of up to $2 million. This will help provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing. Small businesses can apply at the SBA website.
I encourage you to share this information with family, friends and your favorite local small business. For more information, please visit the small business resource page on my website. Together, we can support our local economy and defeat this virus.
