White House Not So Transparent on FOIA

When President Barack Obama first took office, he promised “an unprecedented level of openness.” Instead, we have seen an unprecedented level of obstruction regarding the Freedom of Information Act.

Don’t take my word for it. Listen to Washington lawyer Katherine Meyer, who has filed Freedom of Information Act cases under six administrations, dating to the late 1970s. “This administration is the worst on FOIA issues,” Meyer recently told POLITICO. “The worst. There’s just no question about it.”  Read more »

Congressman Ted Poe Interview about Attorney Gen. Holder's Judiciary Committee Testimony

In December of 2010, US Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered by a gang of Mexican banditos. Two of the weapons involved in the shooting were learned to have come from a federal program called "Operation Fast & Furious".  Recently the House Judiciary Committee under the leadership of Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) held a hearing to receive testimony from US Attorney General (AG) Eric Holder as to the Justice Department's involvement in this operation.  Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) is a member of that committee and recently sat down with me to discuss this and other matters related to Border Security and Illegal Immigration.  Read more »

US Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry - One Year Later - Still No Answers to Fast and Furious Scandal

One year ago today, I wrote my first story about the murder of US Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. Brian was killed in a shootout by Mexican bandits who prowl this region of Arizona to rob drug smugglers and human traffickers. The loss of Brian Terry was, at that time, the latest in a string of casualties of people who risk their lives to protect our borders.  Little did we know the scandal of Fast and Furious that was about to unfold about one of the weapons that was used in the shootout that claimed the life of this brave warrior.  Read more »

Grassley: Time for the Department of Justice and Holder to Come Clean on 'Fast and Furious' Fiasco

The Department of Justice has finally admitted that they provided Congress with inaccurate information about the gunrunning operation, Fast and Furious, which claimed the life of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. TexasGOPVote blogger Bob Price reported on Brian Terry's death, as well as drew a connection between the death and possible government cover-up long before the mainstream media picked up on it.

Almost a year ago now, Senator Chuck Grassley sent the Department of Justice a letter asking for information about the   Read more »
