Smith Supports Israel by Rejecting UN Resolution

Today I voted in support of H. Res. 11, which rejects the recent anti-Israel United Nations resolution. The House adopted the opposition measure by a vote of 342 to 80. Issues: 

An armed burglar in the northeastern corner of Texas picked the wrong grandma’s to rob. The 74-year-old grandmother grabbed a gun and likely saved her own life while chasing the armed intruder.

Congressman Poe Introduces the SMART Border Act

Tuesday, I introduced H.R. 22 the Support More Assets, Resources and Technology on the Border Act, also known as the SMART Border Act. This legislation which was previously introduced outlines a robust border protection strategy and includes several measures to bolster the Federal Government’s assistance in achieving operational control of the U.S. southern border. Well, that escalated quickly.

We’re hearing all about the problems with alleged “fake news.” Now there’s a provision in the National Defense Authorization Act, just signed by President Obama, that will crack down on it.
