Yesterday I delivered the following opening statement at a meeting of the House-Senate Conference Committee on H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

“You want to f*ck with me tonight?” was the question allegedly asked of a Texas legislative intern by State Representative Borris Miles (D-Houston), a left-leaning online news outlet reported Wednesday evening. Yesterday morning a terrorist strapped a pipe bomb to his chest with the intent to cause chaos, death, and mayhem in a busy New York underground subway tunnel. Reports suggest that the attack was ISIS-inspired but ultimately failed when the pipe bomb malfunctioned and exploded prematurely, justly injuring only the terrorist. I am pleased to announce that the winners of the 3rd Annual Congressional App Challenge are Rithwik Pattikonda and David Brooks for their app, “Juke – The SMS Powered Jukebox.”  

Pattikonda and Brooks attend Plano West Senior High School.
