Economic Diplomacy as a Path to Prosperity: Trump Secures Critical Minerals Deal With Ukraine

This past week, President Trump announced that the United States and Ukraine officially signed the long-awaited critical minerals deal, which establishes an economic partnership between our two nations.

Under the terms of the deal, the U.S. will receive a large portion of the future revenue from Ukraine’s natural resources, in return for U.S. support and investment. This a proud moment for Americans, Ukrainians, and all peace-loving people around the world. The result of months of tireless work, this historic deal will strengthen the partnership between our two nations, help Ukraine rebuild and restore its communities, and ensure the American taxpayer benefits from the United States’ investment in freedom. 

The deal also sends a strong message to Russia that President Trump is serious about ending this war. It is time for Putin to stop his attacks on Ukraine, come to the table, and work with President Trump to secure lasting peace in Europe.
