Texans Answering the Call to Help America’s Communities

Over the last two weeks, I — along with the rest of the country — watched in horror as Hurricanes Helene and Milton wreaked havoc on communities across the southeast. My heart breaks for the thousands of families who have lost homes, livelihoods, and even loved ones in these horrific storms. 

I am extremely proud of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas for sending emergency teams — including Texas A&M University’s Task Force 1 — to the frontlines of this crisis. I will continue to pray for all those who have been impacted as well as our first responders from across the country who have answered the call to help save lives and assist their fellow Americans in time of need.
