Congressman Keith Self Sends Letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray Calling for Action to Violent Protests

Congressman Keith Self sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray voicing his condemnation of the violent protests that took place in Washington D.C. on July 24, 2024. This letter asks for Director Wray to obtain the records from local law enforcement and take actions to ensure the individuals who are not citizens are deported out of the United States of America.

“These protests, marked by hateful and divisive rhetoric, the burning of the American flag, and the raising of our adversary’s flag over U.S. soil, are a stark reminder of how little respect some individuals show for the freedoms they are afforded in the United States,” said Congressman Keith Self. “Such displays of prejudice are not only unacceptable, but also pose a threat to the safety of our country.”

Our nation is built on the principles of freedom for all individuals, regardless of their background. Those who seek to undermine these values through violence do not deserve the privilege of residing in the United States.

Congressman Self will be introducing a bill that condemns these violent protests and requires the FBI to take steps to have non-citizens who participated deported.
