Energy and Water Appropriations Bill Advanced by Gonzales Includes Support for Oil and Gas Industry
Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, voted to advance the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations bill. The legislation included language to prohibit previously allocated funding to the Department of Energy (DOE) to push electric vehicles onto the American consumer and a provision to prohibit the DOE from implementing policies that would prevent Americans from owning gas-powered ovens and stoves.
“Families throughout TX-23 have been devastated by skyrocketing energy costs. The Biden Administration’s radical ‘rush-to-green’ agenda must be stopped – we cannot devastate our economy by surrendering to half-baked green ideas. We have abundant, safe, and reliable energy resources right here in Texas, but President Biden refuses to cut the red tape surrounding our energy permitting processes,” said Congressman Gonzales. “The oil and gas industry provides thousands of high-paying, steady jobs in Texas, of which many of my constituents rely on. In the Republican-led House of Representatives, we are putting a stop to President Biden’s war on American energy.”
