Voice of the Conservative Vote: Alex Smith

Alex Smith is serving as National Chairman of the College Republican National Committee. Alex, a native of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, is a graduate of The Catholic University of America, where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Politics. Prior to being elected as National Co-Chairman, Alex served as Chairman of the D.C. Federation of College Republicans. During her tenure as State Chairman, she organized multiple deployments for candidates along the east coast.

Before becoming involved at the national level, Alex served as a chapter leader for the Catholic University College Republicans. She is a recent graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law and is also an alumna of Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international network of Sacred Heart schools. In 2014, Alex was named as an RNC “Rising Star” and was the recipient of the RNC’s Jeane Kirkpatrick Award. During her free time, Alex proudly cheers on the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.

"We can’t simply write off the youth vote as being liberal. We need to at least put up a fight when it comes to younger voters, who are actually more conservative on issues than is generally thought."
