Freedom Saved From Wisconsin Gestapos

In Wisconsin, Judge Rudolph Randa ended a partisan witch hunt by local Democratic law enforcements officers, who should be renamed local lawless Democratic law enforcements officers. While supposedly enforcing administer campaign regulations, Democratic prosecutors used the law to run a cynical campaign against conservative organization in the state.

Maybe Cain Was Not So Stupid

A year ago, I wrote a story about Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan and of course one leftist troll simply stated that Cain was nuts and didn’t bother with explaining why. Cain’s own philosophy was then, and still is, to find a path toward elimination of income tax in favor of a national sales tax. The beauty of Cain’s 9-9-9 plan was not only its simplicity, but the broadening of the tax bill of business tax, sales tax, and income tax. The broadening of the tax burden allowed for lowering marginal tax rates

CPAC 2013 and the Presidential Hopefuls

Fellow TexasGOPVote blogger Tom Donelson recently wrote about some of the CPAC 2013 speakers who stand out as possible 2016 Presidential contenders, listing Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal and Rand Paul.

I respectfully add to that list Ted Cruz, Allen West, Governors Scott Walker and Jeb Bush, and a long shot but very popular person, Dr. Ben Carson of Prayer Breakfast fame.

CPAC also featured Texas Governor Rick Perry, whose presence seemed to signal interest in running for President, although he has frequently told audiences

Why did Matthew Dowd call Governor Scott Walker “Fred Flintstone”?

Matthew Dowd said on ABC’s This Week that attendees at the 2013 CPAC conference last week in Washington were “like a bunch of dinosaurs.” CPAC reminds him of “you know, ‘Land Before Time’ and (is)…. like going to a Flintstones episode.” He sounded more like a mindless Tina Fey wannabe than a thoughtful Republican by saving a special jab for Governor Sarah Palin, whom he compared with the Kardashians. While I proudly have never watched any reality television show, I am pretty sure that the wholesome-family-life-in-Alaska Palin reality show was not in the same universe with whatever shallow drivel constituted entertainment on the Kardashians’ messy-life-on-display show.   Read more »

What We Should Know About Education

The following article was sent in by Joshua McDaniel. McDaniel is a senior economics major from the University of North Texas and is serving as Chairman of the UNT College Republicans.

One of the biggest controversies of 2012 was the vast budget cuts in education spending in Wisconsin by Governor Scott Walker and the newly-elected cast of Republicans in the State Legislature. As the nation witnessed swarms of school teachers and their students storming the state capital, Governor Walker didn’t flinch.

Wisconsin Primary Results

NRCC - Cheeseheads are getting a lot of national attention these days and for good reason. Wisconsin is home to several outstanding leaders – one of whom will be our next Vice President. The Badger State has turned into a breeding ground for leaders who will stand up to special interests and Democrats who want to continue the same tax and spend policies that have driven our economic decline. The impressive recall election victory of Governor

What is at Stake? The Constitution!

This election may be a transformation election, beginning with the economy, but underneath the surface is the question: can we limit the power of government? Obamacare is but one case where economic freedom is at stake. The idea that a person could be forced to buy a product they don’t want or need because the government demands it is a misuse of the commerce clause.   Read more »

Is Obama a Birther, Is Clinton Going Rogue and other Thoughts

When it was revealed that Obama put down in one of his literary booklets that he was born in Kenya in the early 90’s, one has to come to the conclusion, Barack Obama is the original birther. So does that mean that Obama doesn’t believe his own birth certificate is real? Who would have thought that both Obama and Donald Trump believe that Obama was not born in Hawaii?

Wisconsin could be a harbinger to what is to come. For one, the exit polls had this at a dead heat only to find Walker winning by a larger margin than his previous election in 2010. So are polls underestimating conservative strength? If I was an Obama pollster, I may want to pursue that question.   Read more »

Response to Article: Walker's Wisconsin win likely paves end of the road for Democrat party

Okay, I'll grant that big Republican wins in Wisconsin and San Jose, CA are milestones of second thought AT THIS PARTICULAR TIME. But this article is charmingly optimistic. Leftism in human society is more hearty than cockroaches in nature. And they say cockroaches may be the only animal species to survive a nuclear blast.

So people are queasy about massive debt and out-of-control public liabilities. But "death of the Democratic Party?" We're getting a little excited, aren't we? The Democrats will pare back the rhetoric if necessary to accommodate public sentiment. But leftist pandering and envy-peddling isn't going away.

Gov. Scott Walker Wins Recall Election

The recall fight, prompted by Walker's decision to deny Wisconsin union workers collective bargaining, is finally over. Scott Walker has been declared the winner over Democrat challenger and Mayor of Milwaukee, Tom Barrett.

According to the Daily Beast:

Walker’s victory is an undeniable setback for organized labor, which spearheaded the campaign by helping to gather some of the more than 1 million signatures on recall petitions. And the June election was also a test of get-out-the-vote strength, with Barrett’s allies spending twice as much as the governor’s side to mobilize voters.
