Texas GOP Vote

An article, based on lies, by the Texas Tribune’s Emily Ramshaw was picked up by the New York Times Sunday (January 29th) edition.

The lies are neatly tied up in these two sentences:

"This past fall, doctors were required to start performing a transvaginal sonogram at least 24 hours ahead of an abortion, a shift they say has had frustrating consequences for clinics and patients."

The following is a press release from Texas Senator Dan Patrick:

AUSTIN, TX – This morning, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals vacated the injunction on the sonogram bill by District Judge Sam Sparks.

In a strongly worded order, the Fifth Circuit panel makes it clear that they found no constitutional flaws with the legislation and the injunction should be vacated. Even more significantly, the panel states that they will handle any further appeals related to the sonogram bill.

“Appellees failed to demonstrate constitutional flaws in H.B. 15. Accordingly, they cannot prove a substantial likelihood of success on each of their First Amendment

Major Victory for the State of Texas and for life!

Texas passed a law in the 2011 Legislative session that requires a sonogram to be performed for women who are contemplating killing their unborn baby. This would allow the woman to be fully informed about what she is doing and who is inside of her.   Read more »

The following interview with Texas Representative Bill Callegari is one of a series of interviews conducted by VOCES Action and TexasGOPVote with members of the Hispanic Republican Conference in the 82nd session of the Texas Legislature. Representative Callegari represents House District 132, which includes west Harris County.

In my conversation with Mr. Callegari we spoke about his district, why he is part of the Hispanic Republican Conference, the closeness he has with Hispanic people and his own Latino background, his opinion about the immigration problem and the fact that he is a co author of the Sonogram Bill, HB15, that recently passed. He also mentioned another bill.

What is going on in the Texas House? I find it strange that even after their electoral beating, the Democrats in Texas refuse to listen to the voters who clearly wanted more conservative governance and continue to obstruct House debate on conservative issues, such as the Sonogram Bill (HB15) and Voter ID (SB14).   Read more »
