A Global Carbon Tax?

Will the United Nations wield its unproven claim that greenhouse gas emissions cause climate change to require each of its 193 member nations to measure and report GHG emissions, a prerequisite for a global carbon tax? Does it really matter whether next year’s meeting in Paris, France, produces a treaty or a “soft law” document or both?

Todd Stern, head of the American delegation at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change meeting in Lima, Peru, says the U.S. is “perfectly happy to have an assessment process”

UN Takes Concrete Steps Toward Global Tax

In Doha, Qatar late Saturday delegates attending the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change took concrete steps toward a new global treaty to address global warming that will transform the economic structure of the world with a new global tax. To be completed by 2015, the UN expects every nation to implement it by 2020, even though the globe has not warmed for the past 16 years.   Read more »

Cathie Adams, the International Issues Chairman for Eagle Forum, participated in a press conference organized by CFACT, the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow, in Doha, Qatar on Thursday.

“Complete Transformation of the Economic Structure of the World”

The United Nations is meeting in Qatar to negotiate a “complete transformation of the economic structure of the world,” explained Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change at a Monday press conference.

“What is occurring here, not just in Doha, but in the whole climate change process is the complete transformation of the economic structure of the world. It should happen much quicker, but it cannot happen overnight,” she added.

Figueres concluded, “This Conference of the Parties will produce a second commitment period to the Kyoto Protocol, the only legally binding agreement. It will have the necessary amendments to go into a second

International Revolution to Create a Global Tax Scheme

Science does not motivate the 195 parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change; instead, it is the Green Climate Fund’s potential jackpot of trillions of dollars.

The UNFCCC Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres says a “revolution, the largest, most deeply rooted revolution mankind has ever seen, a deep transformation,”

Climate Change Can Kicked Down the Road

The United Nations finally concluded its Climate Change meeting in Durban, South Africa at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, a day and a half late. Delegates did not create a new treaty to legally bind nations to limit greenhouse gas emissions to replace the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. Nor did they approve a global tax scheme to fill the Green Climate fund.   Read more »

The United Nations Bans Opposition to Its Global Tax Design Meeting

When United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced his plan “to fundamentally transform the global economy — based on low-carbon, clean energy resources,” few realized he was calling for a new global tax to be designed without public scrutiny, but that is exactly what he meant. To thwart it, the UN’s flawed process and its tax design scheme must be exposed.

The UN’s one nation, one vote system has been used since its founding to render the U.S. impotent, regardless the fact that we are its major financial donor.

U.N. Agrees on a Process to Design the Global Taxing Scheme

Cathie Adams reporting from Cancun, MX -- Cancun, Mexico’s record-setting low temperature during the “global warming” conference did not cool the “hot air” at the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, Conference of the Parties 16.

ZERO Carbon Emissions Produces Abject Poverty, Sabotages Hope

Cathie Adams reporting from Cancun, MX -- The industrialized world needs to realize that the radical environmentalists’ demand for a ZERO carbon economy by 2050 is a cruel hoax being perpetrated upon the poor. Succumbing to the unproven theory that burning fossil fuels is warming the climate robs the poor of the hope to improve their lives.   Read more »

U.N. Secretary Generals calls for Fundamental Transformation of the Global Economy

Cathie Adams reporting from Cancun, MX -- Fundamental transformation--where have Americans heard that phrase before? In 2008, candidate Obama promised to “fundamentally transform” America which has resulted in skyrocketing debt and sustained joblessness. We surely do not want that on a global scale!   Read more »
