National Night Out

Tuesday evening I was delighted to join constituents in Richardson, Rowlett, and Wylie to participate in National Night Out. National Night Out is a program that started in 1984 as “America’s Night Out Against Crime,” and now involves more than 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities from all fifty states. This unique night allows neighbors and members of the community to meet with local law enforcement and promotes police-community partnerships, crime prevention, and neighborhood camaraderie. I enjoyed meeting with the Mayors of the cities, Mayor Laura Maczka from Richardson, Mayor Todd Gottel from Rowlett, and Mayor Eric Hogue from Wylie, and local police officers and firemen to discuss ways to keep our communities safe.
