Defending Our Veterans’ Religious Freedom

Just after we found out about the VA covering up wait times for veterans, we found out they’re also covering up Christian symbols in VA chapels. We’ve heard reports that the VA has hidden a statue of Jesus Christ, a cross, and an altar in order to promote the appearance of ‘religious neutrality.’ This dishonors our veterans and our longstanding history of religious freedom.

I sent a letter to Acting VA Secretary Sloan Gibson asking him to clarify the origin of their ‘religious neutrality’ policy and to find out what safeguards they’ve put in place to ensure our veterans maintain their constitutional right to religious freedom. Our veterans should be able to attend a VA chapel and freely practice their religion, without this clear infringement of their constitutional rights. I’ll keep you updated on my efforts to support religious freedom for our veterans, and for every American citizen.
