When it comes to taxes and spending, we should make it easy to tell the difference between a Democrat and a Republican. Across America and here in Texas, the GOP has lost its credibility on taxing and spending.
In Texas, property taxes are forcing people out of their homes. We are taxing businesses regardless of whether they make a profit. We no longer think of government spending in anything but trillions of dollars. The GOP has to regain its credibility on taxing and spending if it is going to retain its power in Texas and return to power on a national level.

It’s back-to-school time here in Texas, and we all know what that means: tax-free weekend! This past weekend thousands of Texans headed to malls, shopping centers, and outlets across this state in order to purchase tax-exempt items for school such as clothing and school supplies.

The Fair Tax is far more complex than the name implies. Everyone is for fair taxation and is sick and tired of the Progressive Income Tax. The Fair tax is not as simple and “fair” as one might think.
Senator John Thune (R-SD) discussed budget reform with Greta Van Susteren Tuesday. He explained that the budget process in Washington is broken and must be fixed. "There is just this inertia to spend more." Thune's proposal would create a permanent standing joint committee of both Senate and House Republicans and Democrats to focus on deficit reduction. Hillary Clinton is starting to become the Lady Gaga of politics and even conservatives are dreaming of Hillary in the White House. Certainly, Hillary has managed to escape the damaging poll collapse of her boss, the President, and that is a pretty good trick considering Obama has managed to put together one of the worst foreign policy since the late 70’s. (Okay, guess who was President then?)
